Sacred Words Entry #7
Who is Tara?
I will give you my understanding of this subject and for all I know it may be wrong. There are many writings on this particular subject by people with more credentials then myself. But, as I don’t really care about credentials and I love Tara very much, I will share with you my readers my understanding of who she is and the potent healing powers she possesses.
Tara is the mother of all the thirty three gods and goddesses. She is not a new entity; she goes back beyond memory (not mine – all of humanities). She is ancient by even the Hindu faith’s traditions. Tara is only one of many names that have been given to her throughout history.
Tara is the greatest of all the protectors. She has the ability to come to one’s aid instantly when called. It took Mahakala 3 years (or one year depending on the story teller) to come to Karma Pakshi’s aid when he had been imprisoned by the first Chinese Emperor. It only takes eight recitations of Tara’s mantra and she is present and protecting the caller. She is completely fearless and possesses the means to heal and destroy all aspects of reality.
Her siddhi – the yogic realization she bestows on the yogi who meets and stabilizes her mind mandala - is the great law that holds up the material world. It is the means or law the meets and overcomes all other laws; even Brahma’s law and that is really saying something.
It is Tara’s energy that blesses Mama’s Fire traditional Tibetan hot sauce. It is Tara’s energy which is the Sacred Works Project’s mission to support and bring into this world. It is my hope to draw together those who would like to join me in making this happen. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to join in this pursuit. May the wave be released and all in its path be healed by Tara.
