His holiness the 17th Karmapa, who is presently on his first tour of the United states has just been offered and recieved six jars of Mama's Fire. I share this because it is a great honor. I saw him in his last incarnation when I was only three years old. It feels that all the work that has been done, all the offerings and support that have been given to the project over the past four years have been for just this moment. Thank you all so much!
There is an amazing moment of auspicious coincidence which took palce and allowed this offering that I will share.
I called up the head office for the tour and finally, after many calls actually, got through to somebody. Here is were it gets good. I was talking with this gentleman, telling him about the project and the hot sauce when he cuts me off and asks, "Is this the Jesse that used to work at the homeless shelter in Boulder, Colorado?" Now this threw me a little as I was calling from Oregon to Seattle, and of course even a little more as yes in fact I am the Jesse that used to work at the homeless shelter in Boulder.
I answered, "Yes, this is the same Jesse."
From that moment forward I was talking to an old friend. Kindness and open spacious ease was the air as I spoke to Tim. A man whom I remembered well from my time at the shelter. He then effortlessly made sure the offering took place. The Karmapa will have six jars of Mama's Fire for the Boulder and Seattle portion of his tour. It was as though all the fire, all the fighting, all of the learning and work that had been done to make this project a reality was for just this offering. I thought this is something I should share with all those who support the project as your efforts have also made this offering a reality.
Oceans of bodhi rain on you and all you love.
Jesse
