His holiness the 17th Karmapa, who is presently on his first tour of the United states has just been offered and recieved six jars of Mama's Fire. I share this because it is a great honor. I saw him in his last incarnation when I was only three years old. It feels that all the work that has been done, all the offerings and support that have been given to the project over the past four years have been for just this moment. Thank you all so much!
There is an amazing moment of auspicious coincidence which took palce and allowed this offering that I will share.
I called up the head office for the tour and finally, after many calls actually, got through to somebody. Here is were it gets good. I was talking with this gentleman, telling him about the project and the hot sauce when he cuts me off and asks, "Is this the Jesse that used to work at the homeless shelter in Boulder, Colorado?" Now this threw me a little as I was calling from Oregon to Seattle, and of course even a little more as yes in fact I am the Jesse that used to work at the homeless shelter in Boulder.
I answered, "Yes, this is the same Jesse."
From that moment forward I was talking to an old friend. Kindness and open spacious ease was the air as I spoke to Tim. A man whom I remembered well from my time at the shelter. He then effortlessly made sure the offering took place. The Karmapa will have six jars of Mama's Fire for the Boulder and Seattle portion of his tour. It was as though all the fire, all the fighting, all of the learning and work that had been done to make this project a reality was for just this offering. I thought this is something I should share with all those who support the project as your efforts have also made this offering a reality.
Oceans of bodhi rain on you and all you love.
Jesse
Sangpo says
happy day
we can not meet it all
but who cares really
a vajra palace is all we need
just one please
often underestimated
always hidden
It is that tiny voice in our hearts
the one we can only hear
when we are very, very quiet
Bhrama's laugh
We can only succeed when
absolute failure has been realized.
For only then have we let go enough
to see the whole thing fully.
One hundred percent bodhicitta
vajra palace again
for the two are one and the same
let us realize this
and let the dakini's laugh in great joy.
It has been over a month since I have written. I do apologize but things have been quite over whelming. That is the personal piece. The transformation I have been working on for the past sixteen years is complete. When I was living in New York City, I came across a book entitled Christ the Magician, in some used book store in Chelsea. Within its pages, I found something that stuck with me to this day.
The author had compiled all of the writings about Christ that were written by those who did not like him. It was fascinating. The piece that stuck with me was this - when Jesus returned from his years away in who knows were, he had tattoos on his body. The author went on to explain that in Christ's time tattoos were what Egyptian sorcerers used to put there spells onto there body. I decided to do just that and as of last week I put the final piece into my skin.
I first tattooed the seed syllables for the vajra mantra on my back. I then followed this by putting the swastika over those syllables. A note here for the white power folks, the swastika is an ancient Tibetan symbol that is deeply connected with tantric magic. Hitler took is from us and I just took it back for the purpose of bringing bodhicitta into the world. The final piece was to place the star of David or if one really know the meaning of these matters the six pointed star of the dakini's over both the seed syllables and the swastika. The creative holding up the vajra law. That is the spell and it is now cast. May it bring about the intentions of the Sacred Works Project as they were written in my first blog entry.
You all may want explanations, just post and I will give them to you freely.
